An initiative organized by Domino Ventures and aimed exclusively at Uzbek startups. The event gathered international and local investors, founders, and ecosystem builders to celebrate the achievements of early-stage ventures and discuss the future of venture capital in Uzbekistan.

The Demo Day was attended by globally active funds such as Purple Ventures, Orbit Startups, and Heartfelt Ventures, alongside Uzbekistan’s leading VC players including UzVC, Aloqa Ventures, and IT Park Ventures.

Abdulazal Toshkhujaev, Investment Director at UzVC, spoke on the featured panel titled “Bridging Policy, Capital, and Scale: Uzbekistan’s VC Ecosystem at a Crossroads.”

During the session, Toshkhujaev shared key insights into the structural gaps within the Uzbek VC ecosystem:

-A lack of early-stage capital;

-Few experienced fund managers with track records;

-A weak pipeline of investment-ready startups due to limited accelerator infrastructure;

-Outdated regulatory frameworks that are not aligned with global venture norms.

UzVC, in its new role as a Fund of Funds, is addressing these challenges through a systemic approach:

-Allocating capital to both local venture studios and international VC funds;

-Supporting the creation of new local funds and management teams;

-Investing in startup acceleration and incubation programs;

-Working closely with regulators to shape a more investor-friendly legal and tax environment.

Speaking on international co-investment, Toshkhujaev remarked:

“UzVC is positioning itself as a trusted entry point for global VCs. We’re de-risking access to Uzbekistan and Central Eurasia, and we believe the next few years will see a dramatic uptick in cross-border capital.”
